What drives our approach

Cybersecurity is crucial to any organisation's success, but it doesn't have to be scary or mysterious.

Whether it's your board, senior leaders, managers or new starters, building secure thinking into our everyday work enables us to feel confident that we know what is needed to protect our organisations. It ensures that key risks are not ignored, that colleagues feel safe to raise concerns or point out issues with current processes, and customers can feel confident that you are prepared.

You don't have to be a technical wizard or an experienced IT specialist to build these skills, but knowing what is needed from an operational perspective will help you have better conversations with your partners and suppliers about protecting your information and preventing breaches.

Most organisations can make significant improvements to their security approach without having to invest in new tech.
People and process are more important to success than any shiny box. Let us help maximise your existing capabilities first.

Listen first

Our approach is tailored to the culture of your organization. We listen to your pain points and consider how we can best ease them, while also building secure thinking into your activities for the long term, all across your organisational lifecycle.

Cybersecurity can appear the preserve of experts battling against sophisticated, devious opponents. The majority of cyber risks can be minimised through straightforward actions, no matter what your technical ability. Let us show you how.

Principles of building secure thinking

How this approach came to be

My career has been driven by asking one question:

"But why do we do it that way?"

Security professionals can sometimes appear more focussed on their ways of working than on business challenges or customer needs. Strengthening security in your organisation is not achieved through spending large sums of money on tools you can't fully utilise, tedious annual PowerPoint training, or reams of written guidance left on a dusty shelf.

Bringing complex ideas to life, making them real and accessible is what makes me tick. Build Secure Thinking is all about supporting organisations in their security journey, focusing on people and processes before shiny boxes.

We partner with trusted experts in aligned fields to ensure technical and change management expertise is available when you need it. But it always starts with people, and making sure people feel confident in what they are doing.
